Italian grissini

These Italian grissini are wonderfully crisp breadsticks made with simple pantry staples. Perfect as an appetizer, snack, or alongside soups and salads, they’re light, golden, and incredibly easy to make at home.

Ingredients
  

  • 250 g flour “0” or all-purpose flour 2 cups
  • 4 g instant yeast 1 tsp
  • 125 ml water ½ cup
  • 50 ml extra virgin olive oil 3 ½ tbsp
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Mixed seeds to taste

Method
 

  1. Mix flour, instant yeast, water, olive oil, and salt in a bowl until a dough forms.
  2. Knead on a lightly floured surface until smooth and elastic.
  3. Cut the dough into strips.
  4. Roll each strip out until thin.
  5. Place on a baking pan lined with parchment paper.
  6. Brush with olive oil.
  7. Sprinkle with mixed seeds and a pinch of sea salt.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15–20 minutes, until golden and crisp.
