Homemade Peach Iced Tea

There’s nothing like a cold glass of homemade peach iced tea on a hot summer day.

Refreshing, fruity, and incredibly easy to make, peach iced tea is one of those drinks that instantly brings summer to your glass. Whether you’re sitting on your porch, hosting a picnic, or just looking for a flavorful way to stay hydrated, this homemade version is so much better than store-bought. It’s naturally sweetened with ripe peaches, brewed with your favorite tea, and can be customized to your taste with just a few simple tweaks.

What makes this recipe extra special is how it combines the bold, slightly bitter flavor of black tea with the soft, juicy sweetness of fresh peaches. The result is a balanced, thirst-quenching drink that feels just fancy enough for guests but easy enough for everyday sipping. Plus, it’s naturally vegan and can be made sugar-free or decaf depending on your preference.

Homemade iced tea is also a great way to cut down on overly sweetened beverages while still treating yourself to something delicious and full of real flavor.

Ingredients You’ll Need:

  • Water
  • Ripe peaches
  • Tea bags (black tea works well, but feel free to use green or herbal)
  • Sugar (or any sweetener of your choice)
  • Fresh mint leaves
  • Ice cubes

Tips for the Best Peach Iced Tea

  • Use ripe, fragrant peaches for the fullest flavor and natural sweetness.
  • Adjust the sweetness to your liking by adding more or less sugar, honey, or another sweetener.
  • Experiment with different types of tea like green tea, white tea, or herbal blends for unique twists.
  • To intensify the peach flavor, add a few peach slices or a splash of peach juice when serving.
  • Fresh mint leaves can be muddled slightly before steeping for a stronger mint aroma.

Storage

Store your peach iced tea in a covered pitcher or airtight container in the refrigerator. It will keep well for up to 3 days. Avoid leaving the tea out at room temperature for long to keep it fresh and flavorful. If you’ve added mint, you may want to strain it out after a day to keep the flavor fresh and prevent bitterness.

Variations

  • Sugar-free: Replace the sugar with maple syrup, agave, or a sugar substitute like stevia or monk fruit.
  • Herbal: Try using rooibos, chamomile, or hibiscus tea for a caffeine-free option.
  • Peach + another fruit: Add raspberries, lemon slices, or even strawberries for extra fruity flavor.
  • Spiced: Add a cinnamon stick or a slice of fresh ginger to the peach syrup for a warming twist.
